The South Holston Lake Dam is only one-mile away. Walk to the dam along a quiet access road and into the woods along the shoreline to the spillway for a quiet, serene 4-mile hike, or drive to the dam and hike 3-miles. Either way, you’ll enjoy a peaceful day in the woods.
Mountain trails are also accessible with a short drive. We will drop you off and pick you up for your day of hiking in the Cherokee National Forest. The treasured Appalachian Trail winds through this area and can be accessed in multiple spots. Additionally, the popular Virginia Creeper Trail is approximately 30 minutes drive from our lodge. Hiking guides can be provided.
Our lodge is situated along the TVA developed river hiking trails that follow the South Holston River on both sides of the shoreline and extend toward the dam onto beautiful Osceola Island. Enjoy the beauty and privacy of the river. The TVA has conveniently provided well-kept, centrally-located bathrooms and benches at spots along the trails.
